Thenue Housing Association

The iPads are fitted with pre-pad SIM cards allowing limited data access (confirm limit)the project is experimental and aims to learn a number of lessons from the experience (see below).
who is it aimed at?
The project is aimed at all Thenue customers local to the Dalmarnock area
how is it funded?
This project has been funded from Thenue Housing Association resources
housing organisation resources provided
Funding to purchase iPads, time from the Digital Inclusion Officer
what partners are involved?
Dalmarnock Legacy Hub
The project aims to learn a couple of important lessons about lending:
- What are reasonable monthly data allowances for such a service?
- What kind of usage patterns will arise? WIll some people use significanlty more than others? What happens if the first person to borrow the laptop uses the weekend to watch all 126 series of '24'?
- How best will de-personalisation of the devices be managed? Currently, returning the iPad to its factory state will suffice, but how much time will this take in reality, given that it's a task whch can continue in the background while other work is done?
To be continued...
